Plastic Carrier Bags!

Are we really saving the planet… or saving the supermarkets money? Most supermarkets want us now to buy their carrier bags. Every family spends an average of between 50-100 pounds a week on foods bought from their local supermarket, now, I won’t show you up, by telling you how much you spent in one year, so is it unreasonable for a supermarket that brags millions of pounds worth of profit every year and throws a quarter of it’s foodstuffs into landfill to charge you - its customer- their bread and butter! the price of a bag to carry away your purchases… is that good customer service… or just poor customer service? After all.. if they were keen to save the environment… And valued our custom… they would give us STRONG RECYCLED PAPER BAGS!

How thick do they think we are?…I mean’ honestly’…they want us to buy plastic bags as a way of helping conservation,,,,yet the supermarkets still have half an aisle full of plastic bags for sale to fit any size bin,,any size sandwich,,any dirty nappy…we are trained to use bin liners in every room of the house then put those plastic bin liners into our wheelie bin lined with plastic wheelie bin liners….you even buy plastic garden rubbish bags…the list goes on so why worry about the plastic grocery bags when we use them for our rubbish….obviously they’re not selling enough kitchen bin plastic bags

  2. Well stated Lynne. If they were concerned about saving the planet they would put pressure on their suppliers to cut down on the amount of pre-packaged food that arrives in their stores… But then, you see, THEY DON’T HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT!
