British Lost and Forgotten Films of the Past…

The Eternal Feminine 1931 This is a welcome backstage comedy. Produced, directed and written by Arthur Varney and features Terence De Marney as the half-brother of a rich showbiz backer played by Guy Newall. Michael (De Marney) marries a showgirl and is then injured in a car accident, upon which his new wife goes to work in a production backed by Sir Charles (Newall). Compelling stuff for its time but kept within a light vein.
