'Southern Comfort'
This lovely old Mississippi River Boat drew past ‘The Broadland Folk’ on it’s regular sailings from Horning on The Norfolk Broads along the River Bure, and returned in the evening decked with coloured lights and a Jazz Band. ‘Southern Comfort’ has a capacity for 100 passengers and offers an onboard commentary and a fully stocked bar.
I sat down this evening with a Scotch (By the way Scotch is a drink – not a nationality!) and watched my favorite Bond movie “For Your Eyes Only” And with Sir Roger Moore – that has got to be the best Bond Ever! When I first watched the film all those years ago… I just fell in love with Sheena Easton’s spellbinding Scottish tones, Ah’ Happy Days! Well, all these years on… nothing has distracted from the sheer enjoyment of the production… aside from three telephone calls this evening… that I duly ignored… and no less will suffer for in the morning! …

This highly amusing picture from video footage by ‘The Broadland Folk’ is worthy of a second airing. Taken on The Norfolk Broads last year – the picture is completly unretouched and the subject perfectly relaxed!
The Royal Crown on the gates to St. James's Park
The Royal Crown sits above the gates to St. James’s Park in Westminster London – Robert Morey continues his travels around the capital. This Royal Park covers some 58 acres and is very popular with visitors. It was dedicated to ‘St. James The Less’ and from it’s small bridge across the lake, one has an excellent view of Buckingham Palace. At the edge of the lake, just under a large Weeping Willow, there is a wonderful view of ‘Duck Island’ and of ‘West Island’ and from there… abound a multitude of watchable wildfowl.
This delightful family of Greylag Geese was pictured recently on The Norfolk Broads by ‘The Broadland Folk’ … The Broads are home to much varied wildlife and many forms of aquatic creatures. The Greylag Goose (Anser anser) known in the US as Graylag, is the largest of native British wild Geese and found in large numbers in the South East and Southern areas of England. It’s a friendly creature and mixes well with other species.
The Grove Theatre
Nic Barclay as Peter Meredith was compelling watching in Brian Clemens ‘Strictly Murder’ at The Grove Theatre Dunstable recently, and Katie Funk was somewhat dramatic as Peter’s wife Suzy Hinchcliffe. The Half Wit Josef was full of reaction and enacted by David Rumelle. whilst Ross was played with a masterful upper class accent by Mark Moraghan, and Jasmine Darke gave a wonderful tweedy Hattie Jacques ‘take-on’ in the character of Miriam Miller. The production was by Bruce James… You see, you don’t have to sit in front of Eastenders every night! Live Theatre is still alive… and kicking!

Repair work to The Norfolk Broads
It’s an ongoing task for teams of workers employed to repair the banks and dredge the waters of The Norfolk Broads. The Broads are a very busy waterway requiring constant attention all year round!
A Beautiful Black Swan
This beautiful Black Swan was photographed recently on The Norfolk Broads by ‘The Broadland Folk’ during their boating adventures in Norfolk. The Black Swan is generally quite happy around humans, and can become very tame, even feeding from the hand! But can be very anti-social with other Swans! It is nice to see so many American friends taking an interest in the shots provided by ‘The Broadland Folk’
